Futura 5.5M

There is a new member of the Futura family, the Futura 5.5M - it plays like a blade but it is a mallet putter. It has a  straight shaft with 303 stainless steel body that holds a face plate milled from lightweight 6061 aluminum. The face wraps under the leading edge and becomes the sole. By having a heavier material around the perimeter of the aluminum, the 5.5M is more forgiving and resists twisting on off-center hits more effectively.

The single-bend shaft on the 5.5M produces some toe hang, so it is ideally suited for players who have a stroke that goes inside the target line on the backswing, squares at impact and then goes back to the inside on the follow through.

The Futura 5.5M offers the forgiveness of a mallet with the feel of a blade and features a neck configuration that promotes a flowing, arced putting stroke more commonly associated with blade style putters.

FUTURA 5.5M DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY FAST FACTS:

• The compact mallet—about 10 percent smaller than the similarly-shaped Futura 7M—is designed for easy alignment with built-in toe flow.

• Shorter single bend shaft configuration for additional toe hang, promoting an arced path and flowing putting stroke.

• Multi-material technology – featuring wrap-around face-sole construction milled from lightweight 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, integrated with precision-milled 303 stainless steel – moves weight back and to the perimeter, allowing for a larger putter head with enhanced high-MOI performance (resistance to twisting during the stroke).

• Tour-proven heel-and-toe sole weighting technology increases stability and forgiveness.

Scotty Cameron is offering four new models for 2017. Featuring some of the best models from the Select and Futura families, Cameron & Crown putters by Scotty Cameron are precisely crafted at 33 inches and specifically weighted for the player whose setup demands a shorter putter.

The Titleist Cameron & Crown putters are custom designed at 33 inches with properly weighted heads and smaller diameter gray Matador grips to ensure a correct swing weight for optimal feel and balance throughout the putting stroke. Each putter style features performance-matched multi-material technology to provide ideal forgiveness and feel. The raw stainless steel finish with unique Silver Mist bead blast treatment creates a radiant, yet glare resistant appearance and the graphics blend the familiar three milled dots with a gold, black, gray and white color scheme.

The 2017 Cameron & Crown Newport Mallet 1 is a rounded, flowing mid-mallet with 6061 aircraft aluminum wrap-around face-sole technology, sweeping single-bend shaft, and pop-through flange alignment system.

The Cameron & Crown Newport has an iconic shape, with its clean top line and elegantly sculpted metallic curves, is a feel player’s putter. As the rounder counterpart to the Newport 2, with its compact heel-to-toe profile and softer edges, the Cameron & Crown Newport is a Tour-validated model with deep roots in competitive golf. 

The Cameron & Crown Futura 5MB has a “muscle back”, it is a rounded mid-mallet with the refined Tour-proven wrap-around face-sole technology pioneered by his Putter Studio R&D, Scotty’s Cameron & Crown Futura 5MB, with its misted solid stainless steel flange and anodized 6061 aluminum face, is a complete modern classic from the sole up.

The Cameron & Crown Futura 6M began its journey to production as a hard-working prototype on the worldwide professional golf tours. Combining MOI-enhancing design concepts from the previous Futura X family such as the external weights positioned off the back flange, the Futura 6M offers the ultimate in forgiveness and resistance to twisting on off-center strikes in addition to providing the soft feel achieved by the wrap-around aluminum face-sole component.

FUTURA 5MBS Limited (2017)

The 2017 Futura 5MBS U.S. Limited, has only 750 models made in the USA, it is a souped up model and delivers a Tour-inspired putter with a very specific setup in mind.

 Scotty created this Futura 5MBS with a straight shaft (signified by the “S” in 5MBS) at what he calls the “one position” just back from center. He included a milled crisscross sight line on the muscle back flange and gave the entire presentation a mysterious and smoky feel with his Tour Black finish.

With the entire face-sole inlay anodized black, Scotty left the 20-gram sole weights unfinished in polished stainless steel, engraved his name so the raw aluminum shows through, then gave the engravings clean color pops of red, gray and school bus yellow.

Newport 3

The 2017 Scotty Cameron Newport 3- is a heel shafted mallet putter with the Newport shape, the flow neck is soft going up for the offset and back for the lie angle. The Newport 3 is more precise, better looking and better performing.

Futura 7M (2017)

The Futura 7M is sleek and so eye catching and an  improvement on the Futura X7M with refined shaping of the back wings, including the stainless steel “bar back” that moves weight behind the putter face for added forgiveness.  Take a look at the photo below and see how well it lines the ball up with the hole.

Dual-purpose alignment frames the ball and aligns to the sweet spot. The 7M is similar in shape to the Futura 5S but in the larger “7” size. With the same forgiving, easy-to-align setup with a sleek new bar back design.

Futura X6M and X6M Dual Balance (2017)

The Futura 6M - the “M” relates to the “MOI”- this putter was inspired by the work done with changing Adam Scott from the long putter to the traditional shorter length, combining a pop-through “bar back” design with deep heel-toe weights for the ultimate in forgiveness and resistance to twisting at impact. Dual-purpose alignment frames the ball and aligns to the sweet spot.

 The Futura 6 series relates to the slightly larger size compared to the 5, the new Futura models are identified by shape and size using a 5, 6 and 7 numbering system. Higher numbers indicate larger sizes.

Futura X6M Dual Balance

Futura 5S (2017)

Futura 5S

The Futura 5S (“S” for “straight shaft”) features a pop-through “bar back” design that moves weight farther behind the putter face for higher MOI, along with a straight shaft setup inspired by tour feedback. Dual-purpose alignment frames the ball and aligns to the sweet spot. The 5S is similar in shape to the Futura 7M but in the more compact “5” size.

A built-in vibration dampening system connects the mid-milled face-sole component to the stainless steel frame of each model, producing a responsive feel and feedback that Scotty describes as “soft, but solid.”

With its shaft positioned slightly back from the center sightline, the 5S sets up beautifully at address with visual cues that help to get the putter starter.
